AMC Entertainment Stock Rises Ahead of Earnings Report
AMC Entertainment shares gained 5.2% intraday Monday following the strong opening weekend performance of "The Devil Wears Prada 2," which drew 4.4 million theatergoers and grossed $233 million globally. The stock pared gains to close up just 0.3% at $1.47, remaining 63.5% below its 52-week high.
The company prepares to report earnings Tuesday amid expectations of 11.2% year-over-year revenue growth. Last quarter's results exceeded analyst estimates, with $1.29 billion in revenue. Current analyst price targets average $1.92, representing potential upside from Monday's closing price.
Despite recent momentum in box office performance, AMC shares have declined 9% year-to-date. The sequel's success marks the fifth 2026 film to open above $60 million domestically, continuing a trend of robust theatrical demand following a record Easter weekend.
